About Me
From the moment I picked up my first camera in high school, I knew photography would be a lifelong passion. Growing up in the vibrant and eclectic San Francisco Bay Area, I spent countless days capturing the energy of my friends, who were immersed in the local punk rock scene. I photographed them performing in gritty, adrenaline-fueled shows and skating through the city’s streets, forever preserving the spirit of that youth culture.
After high school, I explored my creative side further by studying Fine Art and Photography in college. During that time, I even considered pursuing an MFA to refine my craft. However, the thrill and immediacy of working in the real world, capturing moments for magazines and record labels, became too enticing to ignore. The chance to tell stories through my images and see my work published drove me to step out of the classroom and into the ever-evolving world of professional photography.
My roots in photography are firmly grounded in the “old school” analog techniques that I learned in my early days. Developing film in darkrooms and perfecting the art of manual settings instilled in me a deep appreciation for the tactile and organic experience of film photography. While digital cameras have revolutionized the way we capture images, there is something uniquely rewarding about the deliberate, thoughtful approach required for film. I still enjoy picking up my film cameras, letting the natural imperfections and beautiful textures of analog photography shape my work. Even today, I strive to bring the essence of that authenticity into my digital photography, aiming to blend the best of both worlds.
